Image Tracking and Strain Analysis Software Demonstration

Data Analysis & Software Walkthroughs
Quick Overview:
Demonstration of image-based strain tracking software used to quantify regional deformation and validate strain conditions during mechanical testing.

This video demonstrates CellScale’s image tracking and strain analysis software, used with the BioTester, MicroTester, and UniVert mechanical testing systems.

Using post-test image data, the software tracks individual points or arrays of points on the specimen surface to calculate regional strains using an adaptive digital image correlation technique. This approach provides more accurate and spatially resolved strain information than methods based solely on grip displacement.

Image-based strain tracking allows researchers to verify prescribed strain conditions, identify non-uniform deformation, and detect localized damage or grip-related artifacts during mechanical testing.
