RESEARCH SUMMARY
This study examined how aberrant expression of recoverin alters GPCR signaling, metabolism, and mechanical phenotype in A549 lung adenocarcinoma cells. Overexpression increased drug sensitivity, induced oxidative metabolism, and stiffened 3D spheroids through GPCR-related mechanisms.

CELLSCALE INSTRUMENT USED

MicroSquisher

The CellScale MicroSquisher was used to measure stiffness of 3D A549 spheroids by compressing individual spheroids to their semidiameter. Force–displacement data showed recoverin-expressing spheroids were significantly stiffer than controls (p < 0.001).
