RESEARCH SUMMARY

Applied uniaxial cyclic stretch to cardiac fibroblasts to mimic pathological mechanical environments. Found that abnormal strain triggers p53/p21-mediated senescence and nuclear envelope degradation.

The MechanoCulture FX applied cyclic strain (2.5–8.5%, 1–2 Hz) for up to 4 days to model cardiac mechanical environments and quantify strain-induced cellular senescence responses.
