RESEARCH SUMMARY
This work developed a composite sodium alginate–gelatin hydrogel that mimics corneal tissue properties. The gelatin-coated AlgF–Gel hydrogels showed improved transparency, water retention, and fibroblast compatibility, making them suitable corneal scaffolds.

CELLSCALE INSTRUMENT USED

BioTester

The CellScale BioTester 5000 was used for tensile testing of hydrogel membranes at 37 °C. It quantified modulus and elongation, confirming gelatin coating improved uniformity and mechanical stability for corneal tissue applications.
